First Anniversary ideas in San diego or los Angeles?
2 or 3 years ago I spent the 4th of July in San Diego and had fun. We saw the fireworks being shot off next to the aircraft carrier Midway. You can actually buy tickets to stand on the deck of the Midway and watch the fireworks being shot off. It might not sound like most romantic thing in the world, but when you see all of the armed forces people there with their loved ones watching the fireworks it really is something special. The fireworks over the water are beautiful. You can also take a harbor fireworks cruise.
If you decide to do something in LA/OC than I would recommend the Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade and fireworks. It's a HUGE production. So big that PCH gets shut down. They also shoot their fireworks off over the ocean.
Everywhere will be packed on the 4th and traffic will be busy.
where can i see fireworks on new years eve in san diego?
no more fireworks at SeaWorld, but below at legoland
I was wondering if certain fireworks (fountains) were legal in San Diego? The state law says yes.?
State law in California allows certain fireworks. Counties, municipalities, cities etc. may limit the use of fireworks or outlaw them entirely. So your question must be directed to San Diego officials.
Where should I go in San Diego or Los Angeles to watch fireworks on New Year's Eve?
It's actually in between LA and SD but Orange County has a pretty cool New Year's Eve Celebration at the OC Fairgrounds...
not sure if they have fireworks but check it out.. they even drop an "orange" instead of a ball at midnight!
does anyone know where to buy fireworks in az?? or in southern cali ((but not baha cali like san diego))?
OK..first off, being I live in So CA I will tell you that ALL BEACHES PROHIBIT fireworks...But if your a lil freaky and don't care and are up for the drive...head north on the 215 into San Bernardino county and as of July 1st you will be able to see the stands from the freeway as soon as you cross the county line...good luck and DON'T GET CAUGHT!!! Believe me..jail is not where you want to spend your 4th...
I wanted to know if anyone knows where the best fireworks displays are in san diego?
Go to top of Mt. Solodad and you'll see a whole bunch go
off around the city at 9:00 p.m.At 10:00 the Sea World fireworks will go off. If you want to really see them up close you might want to go down to PetCo ballpark.
Best place to watch a fireworks display in San Diego?
There are many places in San Diego - there will be fireworks in Downtown, Coronado, Pacific Beach, Seaworld, Del Mar, etc... I love to go to Coronado by Glorietta bay (ferry landing zone).. and you get to watch Coronado and Downtown's fireworks at the same time and synchronized with each other. If you have a boat, that zone will be the right place to be at. It starts at 9pm.
Here are all the San Diego Fireworks places: http://sandiego.about.com/od/funforthefamily/a/2004fireworks.htm
One year I got tickets on the deck of the USS Midway. That was a lot of fun and you could see a lot of fireworks from there. The perspective was very cool since you were so high up. We took the trolley so we didn't have to worry about the parking.
Anywhere around Mission Bay or right at SeaWorld. SeaWorld puts on a fireworks show everynight around 9:50pm during the summer and there 4th of July show is the best out of all the fireworks displays in SD. So if you are at SeaWorld you should be right under them.
What beach in San Diego is good 2 relax in the sun all day &enjoy fireworks at night? Restaurants near beach?
Mission Bay has many beaches where you can relax, have a picnic, rent water equipment, and then enjoy the fireworks from Sea World. These fireworks will go off between 9:30 and 9:50. The area around the Hilton or to the south of Bahia Resort are excellent choices. I'd recommend a picnic in the park.
Where can I go in San Diego to see fireworks on New Years Eve (for free maybe)?
Every year I head over to Shelter Island to watch the fireworks on New Years Eve. It is not over crowded and you get a beautiful view of the bay, downtown and the fireworks. And as a plus if you are into it around 11:30 people gather at the large bell at the end of Shelter island and anyone who likes has an opportunity to ring this huge bell. They only open the bell to the public this one night of the year. There is usually a nice gathering of people there and you literally are ringing out the old and ringing in the new and then get to watch the fireworks display immediately afterwards.
Joe C. is right. Not even sparklers are allowed. The reason is two fold. First the major fireworks have a reputation for hurting people, so it's a safety issue. Secondly due to the dry conditions in California during July, the whole state is concerned about fires.
There are public firework displays that are awesome. Just check the paper or the TV news as it gets closer to the 4th to find the location nearest to where you'll be.
Best place to view multiple fireworks in San Diego?
The beach at Oceanside is great. You can see Pendleton's and Dana's shows to the north, and Carlsbad and others to the south. You can see 4 or 5 different shows all at once. Plus Oceanside's (off a barge, off the pier) is generally pretty good!
where can I find a fireworks stand in San Diego CA?
Unfortunately you can't. SD has outlawed all forms of fireworks. The closest place to buy them is in Tijuana and it is illegal to bring them into the U.S.
It makes sense because of the decades of fires in Southern California. Sparklers used to be fun. They were somewhat Idiot-Proof if you used common sense, however, it's like anything else, eventually someone creates a new and improved idiot and a thousand acres goes up in flames.
where at in san diego can you have a bbq and drink alcohol and watch fireworks on the 4th this year?
Due to all to visiting party animals causing drunken near riots, you can no longer drink on the beach. All beaches in the county have a booze ban for the summer.
The best viewing for firework is Mission Bay / Crown Point where you can see the Sea World and Mission Beach displays. Fire rings and bbq equipment are taken by dawn so you need to camp out in the early morning hours to get any location that includes fire.
What is the best place in San Diego to watch fireworks on July 4th?
There will be fireworks at a number of places in San Diego on the 4th. One year my family was staying at the Hilton San Diego Resort. We walked down to the beach in front of the resort and could see the fireworks from Sea World as well as fireworks going off somewhere south of Mission Bay....not sure where.
It's always fun to enjoy a beach bonfire and catch the fireworks from Sea World from your bonfire. Find a bonfire pit on Fiesta Island or around the Hilton in Mission Bay to do this.
One of the best places to view the fireworks would be from a boat on the bay. Find out which boats have firework cruises at http://www.sandiego-romantics.com/San-Diego-cruises.html.
I think Harbor Islaqnd may be a better location. I can see them from South Bay on my sailboat...never really saw them first hand in SDO Bay as we watch our own show in So. Bay. but I sure can see them.....Shelter Island may have some but Harbor island is more centrally located......just my opinion....
Where can I go to get a good view of 4th of July fireworks in San Diego?
Crown Point in PB gives you a view of both Sea World and Mission Beach.
Be advised. Mission Beach closes early in the morning to parking and they restrict traffic to residents later in the day. People camp out all day at the beach and just about everywhere else around Mission Bay.
Which base is better to watch fireworks in San Diego?
Coronado because you will be able to see the Big Bay Boom and also the additional fireworks shot off over Glorietta Bay.
Here's the fireworks schedule for all of San Diego:
