Quotes comparing The Rolling Stones to The Beatles?
“Paul really loved the Beatles. If he'd loved the Rolling Stones it would have been different. The Beatles was all about youth and getting it done by the age of 25. The Rolling Stones are based on the blues ... and getting better as they got older.” - John Clifforth
“The girls should decide now to call it a day, ... Consider: The Beatles are forever the superior of the Rolling Stones because they split.” - Daily Express
“chefs with three Michelin stars were the culinary equivalent of the Beatles or Rolling Stones -- they were sorcerers.” - Tim Ryan
“In the golden era of the 60s, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones dominated the American charts.” - Ricky Wilson
“Rolling Stones, Beatles, we gave them all the break they were looking for. All they needed was a good opening act, and we went out there and performed as well as we could... over 15,000 kids chanting.” - Bobby Hatfield
“We idolized the Beatles, except for those of us who idolized the Rolling Stones, who in those days still had many of their original teeth.” - Dave Barry
What Do You Think Of The Rolling Stones' Flowers Album?
It's not great in my opinion, it's an exploitation album released for the American market, containing singles, album tracks and outtakes. Granted there's some good tracks but there's also 'My Girl'?!?
BQ: Tattoo You

The Best Beatles or Rolling Stones songs of all time?
Why not a Rolling Stones song that featured John Lennon and Paul McCartney on backing vocals?
"We Love You" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HKtPjcw7Sg&feature=related
The video is kind of sad. An obviously drugged out Brian Jones before he died.
See John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Eric Clapton sing "Yer Blues". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlwFeNMRPHc
Right now, the Rolling Stones are short a bass player. Paul McCartney is available...
Oh well, we can dream, can't we?
if they have a number or something, you should call them. if not, why not donate them to somebody? like a libation or a school or some place so people have something to read. or sell them, maybe you'll make some money?
Where can I get a Rolling Stones magazine cover resized to a poster? Like 2ft by 4ft?
Aside from the legality of copying such images, you arent going to get a quality image unless you stand a ways back from the poster. An image printed with a offset press is quite unlike a photograph which is continuous tone. What do I mean by this? Take a magnifying glass and look at the cover of your rolling stones magazine and then take a look at a photo. The magazine is made up of overlapping layers which create rosettes. When you blow up the magazine cover this will be more pronounced, so what you will have to do is blur the image in photoshop otherwise you will end up with a really ugly looking image.
What sticks out in my mind is Full Metal Jacket. They're on a helicopter, flying low and "Paint it Black" starts playing. Awesome pick.

I need help its the rolling stones song what does it mean?
That is the least of it. Its saying she is only there to have sex with. In the song he insults her and tells her she isn't good enough to tell anyone about the relationship. She is to bow and shut up and be happy of the rewards he gives.
Nasty little ditty

how much would a set of three 40th anniversary rolling stones magazine be worth?
Your best bet is to post them on Ebay with a starting bit. See if there are any takers with a fair starting bid. If you want to sell them, this is a great way to get the most for them.
Does Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones sound like an amazing Country Song?
I always think more of their blues-influenced songs, but I will agree with you about Wild Horses. It's a wonderful song and one of my favorites.
BA: "Honky Tonk Women"
I read that they originally thought of doing it as an acoustic, country song. Then they did this version on Let It Bleed.
"Far Away Eyes"
What were girl's hair styles during the "Rolling Stones" era?
I was 15 when the Stones did " Satisfaction " circa '64. You could google the name " Twiggy " ( A/K/A Leslie Hornsby ) who was a top model than.
Many girls then ( including one of my girlfriends ) used to have long straight hair parted down the middle and to make it straighter; they used to iron it.
If you google " Peter, Paul & Mary " .....Lots of women had hair like her ( Mary ) and my girlfriend was a much prettier blonde than Mary was.
I like the song heavan by the rolling stones, what other stones songs would I like?
If you like Heaven you'll probably like the rest of Tattoo You (the album Heaven is on), especially the second half. Some Girls, Emotional Rescue and Steel Wheels are other great Stones albums that you should check out if you like Heaven. If you want to get into their other stuff (which is amazing), check out Hot Rocks and Forty Licks as a starting point. Particular songs you will like by the Stones:
"Waiting on a Friend", "No Use in Crying", "Worried About You", "Tops", "Beast of Burden", "Miss You", "Almost Hear You Sigh", "Wild Horses", "All About You", "Emotional Rescue", "You Cant Always Get What You Want" and "Angie".
What is the best studio/compilation album by The Rolling Stones?
"Hot Rocks 1964-1971" is the best overview of their classic era, and fits nicely with Jump Back.
"40 Licks" spans their whole career, from 1964-2002, but leaves out a lot of the great album tracks "Hot Rocks" includes.
"More Hot Rocks" is even better than "Hot Rocks". It covers the same era, but includes mostly non-singles and B-sides, and can be a revelation to someone just starting to dig deeper into the Stones.
How do I unsubscribed from Rolling Stones Magazines?
I wouldn't respond to this or pay for it at all because they might be trying to get information from you that could be trying to get your credit card number or anything. I don't respond to emails like this.
What are your favorite songs by the Beatles, Rolling stones and Nirvana?
Beatles: "Eleanor Rigby" is a classic by them. It is mostly a McCartney composition, the violins in Eleanor Rigby is what makes it my personal favorite song by the Beatles. It is off of their 1966 "Revolver" album, which I recommend beyond a doubt. "A Day in the Life" from the Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album, "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Your Mother Should Know" from Magical Mystery Tour, and "Something", "Because", & the Abbey Road Medley from Abbey Road are also worth looking into.
Nirvana: Of course, "Smells Like Teen Spirit". It doesn't get more grunge than that. The Nevermind album is, out of their 3 albums, the best. "Come as You Are" and "In Bloom" are highly recommended, as well as their cover of Velvet Underground's "Venus in Furs".
Rolling Stones: "Satisfaction", to be very honest, is a great song by the Stones, but is far too overrated by many. I would choose "Paint It, Black", "Ruby Tuesday", and "Under My Thumb" as great songs to get turned on to the Stones. Personally, my fave songs by them are "She's A Rainbow", "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing in the Shadow?", and "Sympathy For The Devil".
Hope this helps!
how are the rolling stones and the beatles similar?
They were both HUGELY overrated.
The difference is that the Stones were a rock band where the Beatles were a pop band.
Another difference is that the Beatles could sing where Mick couldn't.
But the fact that they are both overrated is the only similarity.
When will the justin bieber rolling stones poster come out?
Are you sure that Justin Bieber poster isn't in that Rolling Stones magazine? Try looking at Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, Macys, Sears, JC Pennys and check online if you like at www.eBay.com, www.amazon.com. Stuff like that.
What are your Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones interpretations?
I think its a story of the devil being around at these terrible times in history, since the time of jesus christ, and it tells about his evil deeds. its actually a really well written song, in that it has a very distinct theme.
Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith
it pokes at how the devil is inside mankind itself:
I shouted out
"Who killed the Kennedys?"
When after all
It was you and me
here it is clear that he is indeed the devil:
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint
also it shows how the has set out to just rule over anything else, gods, kings, queens:
I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the Gods they made
Throughout the song when it says "hope you guessed my name, but what's puzzling you is the nature of my game" is just summarzing how humans look at the devil, and just tend to see or not see his ways.
hope this helps :)
How much is an original Rolling Stones tour shirt worth?
Depending on the condition and what a collector would be willing to pay, not likely much over if over fifty dollars, after that it's pushing it. If it was signed then that would definitely increase the value, considerably, seventy five dollars, and up. But even then the signature would need to be authenticated, by someone qualified to do that.
More often than not, with things like that, the person that owns it over values it.There are a lot of people that put things like that away thinking someday it will be wroth a small fortune only to end up seriously disappointed when they are told otherwise.
Early on, the lyrics of some of their songs were deemed too risqué for TV. When they did "Let's spend the night together" on Ed Sullivan, supposedly the TV producers told Mick to sing "Let's spend some time together". TV sound being poor as it was back then, I'm not sure anyone is clear on what he actually sang.....
...and of course Mick's dance moves on stage, although Jim Morrison took it a lot farther than the Stones ever did.
What type pf guitar do I need to play Rolling stones music?
WELL YOU CAN PLAY ROLLING STONE MUSIC WITH PRACTICALY ANY GUITAR BUT IF YOURE LOOKING FOR A VERY MUCH IDENTICAL SOUND YOU SHOULD BUY AN AMP AND EFFECT PEDALS BECAUSE THAT MATTERS MORE THAN ANYTHING AND DONT GET AN ELECTRIC GUITAR GET AND ELECTRO ACOUSTIC ONES TRUST ME THERE BETTER I SUGGEST A GIBSON,IBANEZ,OR A JOHNSON THERE ALL TOP QUALITY THE JOHNSON SEEM TO BE MORE ECONOMIC BUT ALLSO IN MY OPINION HAVE BETTER SOUND AND FOR THE AMP I SUGGEST A MARSHALL,BERINGHER,OR GIBSON AND THE EFFECTS PEDAL WELL IT DEPENDS BUT TRY GETTING ONE WITH LOTS OF MODES
How did the Beatles and the Rolling Stones differ in their recording techniques?
Actually, their recording techniques were extremely similar.
At first, they were limited by 4-track technology, and recorded as an ensemble most of the time, with minimal overdubs.
With the introduction of 8-track and 16-track recording technology, both bands switched to largely recording instruments separately, and began experimenting with overdubs and layering. Compare the Beatles and Stones' 1964 recordings, and they will sound very similar in recording ambiance. Then, fast forward to 1967, when there were more tracks to use,and again, you'll see that similarity again.
In 1969, both bands took a step back, and returned to more ensemble style playing during recording. It nearly broke up the Beatles (see the "Get Back" sessions), and eventually did. The Stones had not gotten very good reviews with their 1967 recording experiments, and the return to basics in playing and recording was well received.
How come the rolling stones dont sing songs about friendship and the power of your, imagination?
Most rock bands just talk about the items you mentioned. I have wondered the same thing myself. Hearing the 900th song about drugs, fighting, etc just gets way old. It's like, how many times can you rehash the same topic?
I suggest you try to find some more unique bands if you are getting tired of those topics you mentioned (not to diss the Rolling Stones).
Try some nerd rap. ytcracker can provide. He raps about video games and other funny nerdly business.
I took my 27 year old son to see the boys in Houston last December. They were absolutely as great as you could hope for. They're not babies anymore, but they have perfected their art -- truly the world's greatest rock n roll band!
Cant start with a handful of songs by my personal all time fave but I'll tell ya what take a listen to any or all the tracks from Beggars Banquet, Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main St, Goats Head Soup, Its Only Rock n' Roll, Some Girls, Emotional Rescue, and Tattoo You and u cant go wrong. O and plus a lot of the other stuff before and some after is pretty good too!
