is yahoo lotto launched by yahoo to draw winners every month?
Sorry friend. If you did not buy a ticket remember this. You don't get anything for nothing, it's a scam do not answer do not give personal information. The following sites give more information. www.scambusters.org www.scambusters-419.co.uk The iinternet is safe enough if you are careful but please answer nothing that you are doubtful about.Good Luck and be careful.
Wow...David f, where do you get your math from?
175 million times 175 million is 30,625,000,000,000,000. That's 30.6 quadrillion!!! So that's when you'd finally get 1/1?!?
If the odds are 175 million to 1 and you bought all 175 million tickets, you WOULD win!
Anyway - he had the right idea when he told you the odds. If there are 175 million combination, (PowerBall has 195 million combinations), and they sell perhaps 50 million tickets, there is less than a 1 out of 3 1/2 shot. (Less than that because there are always quite a few duplicate tickets.)
Let's take a smaller lotto game. In my state the odds of winning the lotto are around 1 in 8 million. Now you would think if millions and millions of tickets are sold there would always be a winner. The fact is, millions and millions are NOT sold for these small games. When the jackpot is low, like only $1 million, very few people are going to buy tickets - maybe a 1/2 million people. Many people don't start buying tickets until our jackpot gets to $5 million or more, and that takes weeks.
As you your final question - No, no, no!!! The lottery is NOT rigged! It doesn't have to be. It is already the WORST bet you could ever make! The lottery takes 50% right off the top for profit. In other words, for every $100,000 they make off ticket sales, they only pay back around $50,000 to winning tickets! The worst casino game in the world is around a 10 to 15% edge over the player! Lottery = 50%!!!
Hello, I got a mail from Yahoo/Msn Lottery Incoperation stating that LOTTO Winner. How much I trust this mail?
This is a SCAM. The below links confirm various email scams hitting the internet, including the famous Yahoo/MSN lottery scams and how to report them :
Unscrupulous thieves have sent you this email and they are trying to part you from your hard earned cash. They will often ask you to call a premium rate number and keep you holding on whilst you rack up a huge phone bill. They are then paid a large proportion of this phone bill. They may ask you to divulge personal information about yourself or ask for your bank or credit card details. Do not divulge any such information under any circumstances. It is surprising how many innocent victims have been duped by these types of emails. Just remember the thieves who send them are very clever and extremely convincing. I suggest you delete the email and send it into cyberspace, hopefully along with the thieving scumbags who send them.

If you win the lotto jackpot, why do you need a lawyer to claim your money?
You do not need a lawyer, nor is the purpose of hiring one because the lottery commission would try to rip you off. I know that most people usually consult/hire a financial advisor before they claim (in fact, they are encouraged to do so). It is just to make sure your money is properly protected and that no mistakes are made...i.e. taxes, placing it in the right type of accounts, etc.
Result data for that date is not online. (too long ago). You can get the info by following the directions below.

There is no chunk of taxes right off the top. When you take a lump sum, you pay a penalty, but it's not a tax.
Depending on where you live and what lottery you win, the tax implications vary. You don't need to pay federal taxes if you win the lottery in Canada and you are Canadian. In the US, you always have to pay federal taxes, but whether you pay state taxes can vary from state to state.
If you owe money, then you owe money. It doesn't matter that the reason for you owing money no longer applies. If you buy a car and it blows up, you still have to pay for it. If you owe money for child support and those kids grow up, you still owe the money.
It's good that you're planning ahead for when you win the lottery. It sounds like it's the first time you've planned ahead for anything so far. I'm sure your planning ahead will pay off handsomely.
Where can I find old (like few weeks ago) lotto winner numbers online?
You didn't tell us where you are from. There are tons of countries and states and provinces that have lotteries.
Do a Google or Yahoo! search for "***YOUR COUNTRY/STATE***", plus the words "Lottery results".
If you find the "official" lottery website for your country or state, you should be able to find something on the site that allows you to search for old numbers.
I am looking for the results of free lotto internation held on 13 june and the winners?
This is a scam, pure and simple. There is no such lottery. Never answer or reply to such e-mails, never give them any information. If you want, you can forward the messages to abuse@, where is the return address listed in the message. For instance, if it says to reply to firstname.lastname@example.org, forward the message, with the message headers, to email@example.com. They will investigate and usually close the account being used to receive the replies.
Thousands of people have lost thousands of dollars to these scams. They tell you that you must pay all kinds of fees and taxes to collect your winnings, and when you finally wise-up and realize you are being scammed, they disappear with all your money.
has there been any free lotto winners that have received all of what they have been told they would receive.?
Don't ever buy such a foolish scam. Apparently, they're too bad to scam people. There way of persuasion leaves people so much doubt. There's been news and documentaries exposing these kind of scams. BELIEVE ME, NO ONE GETS ANY PRIZE. Everyone wins, no one gets the prize though.
If you won the Lotto and became an instant millionaire, what is the first thing you would do?
I saw a TV show about how lottery winners ended up being broke. They gave away money to family, friends, and the church. They bought big fancy houses and cars, and pretty much blew thru all the money.
After I paid the taxes, I would put half into several mutual funds. I would put 5 years worth of living expenes into a CD and another 2 years worth into savings account. I'd put about 100K in my checking for some spending, half of which would go for household improvements. The rest I would get some financial expert to advise on where to invest -- maybe real estate.
what if you were in a bar/club and saw a lottery winner bring in their big check the lotto gives them?
Well, to each his own. Seems to me the last thing you want to do is flaunt it. People who come into money that quickly don't always know how to handle it. There are numerous stories of lottery winners who wind up broke within a few years. Personally i'd be sitting down with my accountant, my broker and my immediate family and figure out a definite plan for the future. Partying with my friends and family, Absolutely, but that check would be in a safe and secure place.
Cutie is about right in saying 70%, but that really doesn't mean anything.
If 70% of the jackpot winners are from quick-picks, it's only because 70% of ALL tickets sold are quick-pick tickets!
If 80% of the tickets sold were quick-picks, then 80% of the jackpots would be from quick-picks!
Long story short, it makes no difference. You will NEVER, ever, ever, ever, EVER win any sort of lottery jackpot. Not in your entire lifetime. It's not a "fun" truth, but it's the truth nonetheless.
Kourtney K - You are wrong in giving people false hopes. If you did win that big amount of money, then you are one of the 0.0000001% of the people on the planet that can say they BEAT the lottery! Congratulations on that, but it doesn't mean other folks should count on this!
Do you realize that the class of people that spends the GREATEST percent of their income on lottery tickets is the POOR! These people have nothing, yet their wasting 5% of their income, 10% of their income, and some folks even more than that on lottery tickets! They are the lottery company's prey. The lottery feeds on the poor and on the ignorant.
You could spend $50 per week for the next 70 years....that's $182,000 wasted on lottery tickets....If you did this, you STILL would have, for all PRACTICAL purposes, ZERO chance to win any sort of lottery jackpot. That's after a LIFETIME of waste!
I've done the math on this many times. The actual number is somewhere close to a 1 out of 1,000 chance if you spent money excessively for 70 years of your life. Although 1 out of 1,000 sounds pretty good compared to lottery odds, it's NOT when you're talking about your whole lifetime! You only get ONE life, not 1,000! To give people hope of winning a lottery jackpot is irresponsible at best.
when i check the results for saturdays gold lotto i find there are 585 winners for division 1 and 2?
I picked 2 out of 5 and got the power ball. It is all a game of chance with odds like 1:125 million. with those kind of odds, I say fuck the Lottery!
For now on I will take my one dollar and put it in my own lottery bank and every time I want to gamble a dollar or two I'm going to put that in my lottery bank and in 20 years from now I will win some cash with my own money.
8 lotto winners. 18 million dollars a piece after taxes. What would you do with that kind of cash?
pay bills and buy my famlies houses and cars. Oh, yeah, take a trip in first class on an airplane. Sounds stupid, but I've always wanted to be in first class :( Damn those people and their little curtain!! LOL
how can I block all e-mails comming from the United kingdom, pretaining to lotto winners?
All you can do is mark them spam since they don't keep the same email address. Never open them it sends them a message that your account is active then you get more. The more you mark them spam the sooner they will stop.
LOTTO winners are close to 70% senior citizens, right? Is it because they play the most regularly/consistently?
My friend and I went to the Casino/Hotel and stayed for 2 days and I felt like they had let the old folks loose!! They were there in full force....people in wheel chairs and all of them smoking!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one that observed this!!
Is it possible to spend your way to poverty as an individual - 90% of lotto winners agree?
And as a government too. I think we need a constitutional debt limit like Germany. There the government has to show constraint and pay off its bills when the economy is good,. They still have the option to borrow when the economy hits the skids and to make a softer landing as they have done this time.
which city in florida has the most florida lotto winners?
in my opinon, gambling is wrong. an occasional risk is good, but not with your hard earned money. and to answer your question, their is no way to tell which city has the most lotto winners. lotto is a complete change and a huge gamble. for every ticket you or someone buys, thats one less chance of winning. think about it. if your going to gamble, do risky sports, like skydiving and extreme boarding.
With the economy is bad, how would lotto winners receive their winnings?
Lottery jackpots are based on the number of tickets already sold, until someone finally wins. Winners can either take an immediate payout. Or receive their winnings over a number of years. For those who elect to receive their winnings of a number of years the money is put into an annuity by the lottery commission which pays out the winnings each year. Sales of lottery tickets and the size of eventual jackpots may be influenced by the economy, but payout of the jackpots arent. They are virtually guaranteed.
Why do most Lotto Winners end up bankrupt in 10 yrs or less - All it takes to get Rich is money, right?
..... Those few who do lose it weren't raised to know how to handle those sums of money, didn't plan and learn before getting it (since they never thought they would), and the world shows up at their door with their hands out upon hearing of the win. What are the real numbers? Got source?
