Lipton bottled green tea as good as green tea from a tea bag?
Bottled Lipton Green Tea has 21 grams of sugar in it. Therefore, it is composed mainly of corn syrup. Drinking liquid sugar is definitely counter productive towards a diet and exercise program.
I suggest spending 2 dollars at Wal-mart and buying actual green tea. In teabags. Or running a little.
How is green tea good for your health? Why is green tea so popular?
well..it's healthy for you for several reasons, one of them that comes to mind is the egcg in it that is good for your metabolism, other than that, i also think it tastes good [though i hate the lipton citrus kind]
i think its made from a certain kind of green tea...so i dont think you can make it yourself....but there are many places online to buy it....i got mine from ebay.... and you can also use it to make green tea fraps like the ones from starbucks....mmmmmm

To sum up, here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful:
What makes green tea so special?
The secret of green tea lies in the fact it is rich in catechin polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant: besides inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. It has also been effective in lowering LDL cholesterol levels, and inhibiting the abnormal formation of blood clots. The latter takes on added importance when you consider that thrombosis (the formation of abnormal blood clots) is the leading cause of heart attacks and stroke.
what is the name of the green tea they serve at japanes sushi places?
Go to a Japanese food market and look for green tea. The most common brand you will see is Yama Moto Yama. If they do not carry that then ask one of the clerks to help you. READ THE LABEL. I CANNOT SAY THAT ENOUGH BUT READ THE LABEL. BE SURE IT READS PRODUCT OF JAPAN. You DO NOT want green tea coming from China. No body knows how much 'other' substances they use when producing items such as green tea. Be Careful.
What's the difference between Lipton brand premium pyramid green tea and the 100% natural green tea?
As an avid tea lover, I can tell you that the only difference between plain green tea and the mandarin pyramid lipton kind is that of flavor. I'm sure both contain green tea and are good for you and will benefit your health equally. this is my opinion.
Also, the mandarin pyramid bags (which are pretty cool) allows the tea leaves and mandarin parts to expand more. Also the bags are made of nylon I believe. To me, this makes a little difference in taste, but not much.. To me, it's all marketing.
I personally like all types of tea. 100% plain green tea, flavored green tea, Sencha (japanese), white tea, flavored white tea, chai tea, earl grey, etc etc.
I wish I knew the brand of "imiported tea" you mentioned. There are so many that I think you should start out with whatever you might like best. Then you can have different kinds after a while. Just remember, they're all good for you.
Why does green tea or anything with green tea in it make my tummy hurt badly?
Does this happen with a freshly-brewed cup of straight green tea? Or is it just bottled green tea?
The reason I ask is, many bottled green tea drinks use a concentrated tea extract (and not even that much of it) along with God knows what other chemicals, additives, and food derivatives. Like Arizona green tea, it tastes like honey water to me. So your body could be reacting to an additive, or to a chemical reaction with the various ingredients.
That said, if you get the same reaction from brewed green tea, or even black tea, then you know what did it! Black tea's chemically very similar to green. And while I've never heard of a green tea allergy, I have heard of caffeine allergies. A doctor can test you for such things pretty easily, too.
Good luck! If you're allergic & need a replacement for tea, you know where to find us. :)
Hello Katie, The best way to lose weight is through a balanced diet and regular exercise. Green Tea is a powerful antioxidant that can aid in weight loss by improving your metabolism, which in turn allows your body to burn fat faster. Green Tea contains an active ingredient, epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) which is known for its antioxidant activity. Recent studies have shown that Green Tea reduces food intake, decreases leptin levels and increases thermogenesis.
It is usually recommended to drink 3-4 cups of Green Tea a day in order to receive its full health benefits. I recommend drinking quality Japanese Green Teas.

How many cups of green tea should you drink to really boost your metabolism?
i dont think u should drink dat much green tea. because green tea is like coffee but without caffeine(i think) so green tea keeps u awake and full with energy more. i think u should drink only 8 fl. oz. of green tea sometimes not everyday. because most drinks says u should only drink 8 fl. oz. i heard this one tea (i forgot wat its called, srry) can help u concentrate on things and help u study better. some tea have there own special effects.
Is green tea really good for you or is it just hype?
Green tea is good as long as you don't overly fill it with sugar. It contains high amounts of antioxidants and little to no caffiene. I use Uncle Lee's brand because it's organic and tastes great but Tazo also makes a really good one. Chai tea is good too but it's very hard to find authentic cha tea in the US. Most of it is a customized blend or offset of chai tea and not the real thing.
Why Japanese green tea tastes/look different than other types of green tea like Lipton and Twinings green tea?
You've been trying different types of Japanese green tea and comparing them with Western brands of green tea that is probably the same type. (Personally, I can't stand Western green teas and no tea from Lipton at all because I think it's poorly made and this affects the taste.)
differences as listed in Wikipedia:
玉露 Gyokuro (Jade Dew)
The highest grade Japanese green tea cultivated in special way. Gyokuro's name refers to the pale green color of the infusion. The leaves are grown in the shade before harvest, which alters their flavor. Gyokuro has a high caffeine content (Generally 0.16% in infusion), but the significant L-Theanine content of Gyokuro slows down and counteracts the caffeine assimilation, and also the amount ingested is very small (Generally 10ml - 60ml).
抹茶 Matcha (rubbed tea)
A fine ground Ten-cha (碾茶: has very similar cultivation process as Gyokuro) used primarily in the tea ceremony. Matcha is also a popular flavor of ice cream and other sweets in Japan.
煎茶 Sencha (broiled tea)
The first and second flush of green tea, which is the most common green tea in Japan made from leaves that are exposed directly to sunlight. The first flush is also called Shin-cha (新茶: a new tea)
玄米茶 Genmaicha (Brown-Rice tea)
Bancha (sometimes Sencha) and roasted genmai (brown rice) blend. It is often mixed with a small amount of Matcha to make the colour better.
冠茶 Kabusecha (covered tea)
kabusecha is sencha tea, the leaves of which have grown in the shade prior to harvest, although not for as long as Gyokuro. It has a more delicate flavor than Sencha.
番茶 Bancha (common tea)
Sencha harvested as a third or fourth flush tea between summer and autumn. Aki-Bancha (autumn Bancha) is not made from entire leaves, but from the trimmed unnecessary twigs of the tea plant.
焙じ茶 Hōjicha (pan fried tea)
A strong roasted green tea.
茎茶 Kukicha (stalk tea)
A tea made from stalks produced by harvesting one bud and three leaves.
A tea that has a tangy, berry-like taste, with a long almondy aftertaste and a deep aroma with tones of citrus, grass, and berries.
It has been proven that green tea is bursting with health benefits. It acts as a powerful antioxidant, which has been known to help prevent cancer, recover from the harmful cholesterol, and protect against damage caused by free radicals.
Green tea has many medical benefits, and is known for prevention of the following diseases: Cancer, Rheumatoid Arthritis, High Cholesterol, Cardiovascular Disease, Infection, and Impaired Immune Function
Promotes weight loss- the leaves of green tea plants help raise metabolism in the body. By increasing the amount of calories burned in a 24-hour period, green tea promotes weight loss.
Prevent bad breath- an element found in green tea decreases the growth of odor-causing bacteria. It is said that drinking a cup or two of green tea may help maintain fresh breath.
Reduce smoking risks- cigarette smokers who drink up to six cups of green tea daily reduces their susceptibility to risks caused by the toxins emitted in cigarette smoke.
Beauty remedy- green tea may be used to freshen up the face and sooth tired or strained eyes. It can be applied to spots and blemishes to lessen their visibility.
Antiseptic properties- Green tea is also known to treat minor cuts and rashes, and is an effective treatment for sunburn.
Green teas inhibit the expression of antigens made by the body, substances that can trigger an immune response.
National Cancer Institute reports that Green Tea has Cancer preventing abilities and Cancer fighting components add new life to the market. People who have relied on expensive anti-oxidant products are finding that Green Tea is very economical and all natural. Tea is one of the top selling consumable drinks, only toped by water.
Green tea can even help prevent tooth decay! Just as its bacteria-destroying abilities can help prevent food poisoning, it can also kill the bacteria that causes dental plaque. Meanwhile, skin preparations containing green tea - from deodorants to creams - are starting to appear on the market.
depends on the type, there are eas for basically everything
im 17 and i have been drinking tea since i was 4 years old, lol weird but i love it!
green tea is a super anti-oxidant, meaning it can really clean the toxins out of your system, and prevent bacteria and sickness, it clears the complexion, you can even buy powdered mathcha sencha green tea, and use it as a face mask (mixed with water), it can keep you awaake because of the high amount of caffiene
you can find teas that help with your immune system, and even ones that help with losing a few extra pounds!
google teaopia ,they have teas for EVERYTHING, not to mention the amazing flavours!
Can I make green tea lotion with just green tea and regular lotion?
no, a green tea lotion/moisturizer is made from extracts and like you said complicated procedures, I imagine if you put green tea in regular lotion, it'll just make it smell funny, or if you put the actual tea leaves in it, you'll have a gritty mess.
Antioxidents are good for your skin because they fight free radicals which are the little nasties that age you. Green tea is a great source of antioxidents ( I like the iced version from Panera bakery) but there are other antioxident sources if you look for them. Dark leafy greens, red and purple fruits and veggies. Red wine.
How do the health effects of green tea and black tea differ?
Green tea antioxidants consist mainly of small molecules catechins, such as EGCG, ECG EG etc.
During the tea making process, these antioxidants oxidise to form larger molecules such as thearubigin and theaflavin.
The evidence is mixed so far, but there are studies that found catechins to be a lot more powerful than thearubigins and theaflavins.
However, more studies are still needed to understand why green tea has more health benefits than black tea.
Some scientists say there are more green tea health benefits because there are more studies on green tea. It does not make any difference which tea you drink since they are the same species.
Personally, I doubt it. If you look at the proportion of studies showing positive results, green tea do better than black tea.
The problem is that black tea molecules are larger and more difficult to study. So it will be a while before we understand the difference between them.
Why not drink both?
Does milk in green tea really cancel out the good benefits of green tea? How about sugar?
Green tea is healthy plain. The milk and sugar won't cancel green tea's benefits, they just add their own problems (sugar isn't good & milk has fat). 3 tsp. of sugar is a lot for a cup of tea.
The cinnamon is fine, as long as it's pure, not mixed with sugar. Cinnamon is also healthy.
Try things like honey instead of sugar. Honey is a healthier food. It's not better than sugar for a diet or diabetes, but it has its own health advantages (and sugar has none). Lemon is a great addition to tea for flavor.
What green tea is best when you want to lose weight? Is Arizona green tea okay to use for it?
Arizona Green Tea has high fructose corn syrup in it, so a big giant NO to that! Just brew your own, pour it in to plastic bottles & refrigerate. Way cheaper, too!
You can buy green tea bags at your local grocery store. Some common brands are Celestial Seasonings, Lipton, and Twinings. If you are too lazy to make it yourself, The Republic of Tea is a good, healthy brand that also makes bottled teas in addition to tea bags. It should also be available at the grocery store. If not, here are the websites:
Just remember to always read the ingredients! If it's got anything other than tea and water it probably isn't good for you.
Make sure the green tea you buy is a good brand. Try a Korean make or Japanese. Also don't let the tea bag steep too long, it will get bitter.
Also you can make a punch with green tea, just add your fave juice and club soda.

How many days can you keep home brewed green tea on your fridge?
You are right that bottled tea is not good for you, both because of additives like sugar or sweeteners, and because the chemicals in the tea start to break down after it is brewed.
Tea will stay fresh longer if you do not add any sugar to it, because sugar promotes the growth of microorganisms. Iced tea is best if it is fresh brewed, but you usually will not notice much of a difference in it if you let it sit for a day or two. Keep it in a covered pitcher with a lid, in the fridge. Iced tea stays fresh longer in the fridge, and it also
Tea staying fresh isn't a question of it being good and then suddenly "going bad" like milk or other dairy-based drinks does. Rather, tea degrades slowly or gradually. If it tastes fresh, it is still fresh. It will start to lose flavor or start to taste slightly off if it's starting to break down. Go by taste, if it still tastes like when you brewed it, it's probably fine. But it's usually not best to keep it more than a few days.
You don't need to brew it every day though. Good luck!
What kind of black or green tea to use when making pearl milk tea?
don't use lipton, because it's a weak tea. one teaspoon of tea inside a teabag isn't gonna do it if you want a strong tea.
if you want strong tea, you need to buy loose black tea, preferably assam (english breakfast), or a assam/ceylon mix (british afternoon tea). you can buy black tea in an asian supermarket too. they also have lots of green tea like jasmine, and oolong. for green, i would get a simple green, not jasmine unless you want it. for a roasted flavor, i would get ti kuan yin which is a darker roast of oolong.
if you don't have an asian supermarket near you, look for an indian supermarket. indian supermarkets should have one of the ctc teas like brooke bond red label, or lipton yellow label. ctc ("crush tear curl") teas are dirt cheap, but delivery 5x the flavor, it's like the crack of the tea world, it's the tea that chai masala is made from.
the last case scenario is to look at your gourmet market, or at least whole foods market. and look for yorkshire tea, it will be expensive, but the tea bags are large and make a very strong and tasty tea.
as for tea shops makign tea. tea leaves can be cheap depending on the grade they use. 1st grade tea (for drinking tea, not bubble tea) can cost upwards of hundreds of dollars a pound, but bubble tea places usually buy the cheap stuff, or blends to smoothen out the flavor. they don't use tea bags.
Green tea is no different that any other food. If it is grown in good fertile soil and processed in the proper way, it can be very good for you. The Japanese drink approximately 22 cups of green tea each day. There are a few problems with green tea. It contains lots of fluoride. This depletes the body of iodine. The Japanese people eat lots of sea weed, fish, and sea vegetables that are high in iodine that compensates for this issue. Green tea also contains lots of caffeine. This causes you to have problems with your adrenal glands due to the high cortisol it generates.
The bag green tea, bottled green tea are all radiated or pasteurized and this ruins the biological activity and makes it not that good for you. A good green tea is to find pure green tea that is fresh from a Japanese grocer and then make it fresh.
I have found one company that makes a green tea extract that uses a very unique process of using probiotics to remove the caffeine and fluoride, leaving the concentrated form of the pure ingredients that give you all the benefits. 1 teaspoon of this is equal to about 20 cups of green tea. By mixing pure water with it, you have the best of all worlds. You can purchase this on line at: (800) 370 - 3447. They are in Texas and can ship to you.
Adding sugar to the tea is just not a good thing to do. It doesn't affect the tea itself, but does affect your body. Adding cinnamon can be a benefit to you if the cinnamon is pure.
Green tea in the form I suggest, will help protect you from radiation in the environment and has a very good effect on many organs in the body, but it will NOT clean out your colon.
good luck to you
Does the sugar free iced green tea contain as much caffeine as the hot green tea does?
probably not. you probably get more tannins and the good stuff (flavonoids like catechin) from hot green tea cos you leave the tea bag in to steep longer - plus, usually, there's no sugar
canned drinks have sugar and they've found the 'perfect' concentration for flavour and aroma which probably means plonk it in, jiggle and sieve, add sugar, perfumes etc.
Nothing beats the natural stuff.
t is used to treat multiple sclerosis.
It is used for treatment and prevention of cancer.
It is used to stop Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
It is used to raise the metabolism and increase fat oxidation.
It reduces the risk of heart diseases and heart attacks by reducing the risk of trombosis.

Drinking green tea inhibits the growth of certain cancer cells, reduces the level of cholesterol in blood, improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.
It is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and cardiovascular diseases
It is used to treat impaired immune function. .
Some researches show that, drinking green tea regularly may help prevent tooth decay by killing the bacteria which causes the dental plaque.
What is the difference between green tea as to say black tea or others?
Well green tea does not make you lose weight directly but it increases your metabolism that helps to lose weight if you take exercise, walk or control calories.
Regarding ice tea, it depends on what kind of tea, but let me tell you tea is a healthy drinks but not tea drinks.
You can try green tea.If you like light tea, you may like green tea too.
What in Green Tea increases endurance and the ability to recover quickly from sore muscles?
For bodybuilders, it offers all of these benefits and more. Green tea's ingredient EGCG actually increases exercise capacity by allowing for greater utilization of fatty acids which server as a source of energy during intense workouts. Additionally, green tea can also lead to weight loss. Green tea consumption results in a 24-hour window of increased respiratory ability, which leads to better oxidation performance of the body.
Tazo Green Tips Tea good for you and give the benefits of real green tea?
as far as I know, there are no tea manufacturers that add food coloring to their tea. The term green tea does not mean the tea will be green. Green is a term used to distinguish the type of tea it is and the level of oxidation that the tea leaves have been subjected to.
Green tea has been shown to prevent some illnesses and boosts your metabolism very slightly. It's also has a relaxing calming effect on your body.
What brand of green tea to purchase for all the positive effects?
Im pretty sure most of the green tea is similar, and yes - I would believe that the Tetleys tea has the same goodness as the other ones.
Also, if your looking at tea to boost your metabolism - Oolong tea can increase the metabolism by nearly double of what green tea can.
How much green tea is actually in a green tea pill?
Green tea is typically used to help to boost the metabolism, but not by much. Yes, its good for you, but to take it alone as a weight loss pill does little to nothing. There is a reason that diet pills always say "use in addition to proper diet and exercise", because its the proper eating and exercise that is really doing the work. Its not going to hurt her so if taking them helps her aid in her weight loss, dont tell her because more than likely, it is psychosomatic.
lol i read al the previous answers, wht can i say, they repeat same answers everywhere, anyway listen...... Green tea is known to burn fat and fasten ur metabolic rate, well thats y u burn fat faster....... On oprah, she had a doctor over, and he said that if some1 can drink 3litres of green tea every for a month u can lose up to 10kgs thats like 15LBS. but its impossible, but he said if u drink 3 to 6 tea cups a day, u can lose bout 7pounds in 2weeks, nyway, look.. i tried it b4 and i lose weight, and if ur eatign 500cals a day, u should lose atleast 12pounds in a month time span........ 500 cals is nothing, u burn atleast 300 just when ur sleepin, and ur left with 200, they can b burnt by green tea and crunches..... welll look, im not the kind of girls that say u should eat 1200cals a day, altho i know it healthier, but guess wat, all my friends did this srict diet, and they lost weight in just 3 months or 4 max, and they kept it off, bcuz u get used to eating little, and ur body gets used to consumin litte food too......go for it.. ull lose lots of weight wish u all the best
I just finished reading the book "The Ultimate Tea Diet" Great book by the way. I have friends that went on the diet, which basically consists of drinking 8-16 cups of tea a day. They ate whatever they wanted and exercised moderately and drank a bunch of tea(doesn't matter what kind) and they all lost weight some more than others, they all feel better(mentally and physically) and I guarantee you they all look better. It takes about 2-3 weeks to notice any significant changes but tea is so healthy for you....regardless of what kind it is, just make sure you don't put milk or sugar in it.
What I learned from my mom is to put a spoonful of honey and squeeze half a lemon to my green tea to make it taste better. It doesn't totally get rid of the green tea taste, but the honey and lemon make it taste yummy for me ;)
You should try it :)
Adding sugar to green tea dilutes the health benefits. The polyphenols (antioxidants) won't be as effective.
1-2 cups a day will make a noticeable difference in your energy level and give you loads of antioxidants. It's also a natural appetite suppressant.
My favorite green tea is Stash chai green tea, available in most grocery stores. It has cinnamon and other spices in it. If a soda drinker like me can be content with it anyone can. :-)
