N.E. David Byrne fans out they're?

I love David Byrne, though I love early Talking Heads even more. Saw them in concert after Speaking in Tongues came out, and his mother was an acquaintance of mine for a couple of years. (I remember her as a wee Scottish peace activist who was sure David was in the same category at Mozart and Beethoven.) Their best stuff is '77, Fear of Music and Remain in Light. Their live double album The Name of This Band Is the Talking Heads is very fine. Hey man, you gotta learn to spell. Seriously.

"Angels" is the only song made into a video off the 1994 David Byrne eponymous CD, and the video is rare. David Byrne's 1997 album "Feelings" is the closest timeline match. There was a single, "Wicked Little Doll", promoted featuring two members of Devo, including driving force and current Nickelodeon soundtrack standout Mark Mothersbaugh. Sorry I could not pinpoint the exact song for you, but I hope this data helps.

Why do People Call David Byrne "Pretentious"?

No one can control what other people think. If some people think he's pretentious, and you don't, don't put any energy on what other people think.

Why did david byrne leave the talking heads?

Byrne's decision to leave the Talking Heads was partly the result of realizing that he couldn't pursue some of his musical ambitions within the context of the group. At the time, the Talking Heads had released their final studio CD, Naked, and Byrne had turned his attention toward his ever-growing interest in world-beat music. He wanted to release a Latin-flavored album, an idea that didn't fly with the three other members of the Talking Heads, guitarist Jerry Harrison, bassist Tina Weymouth and drummer Chris Frantz. "I wanted to do a Latin record, and, well, I took some of the songs to Talking Heads, but they didn't want to do them," Byrne said. "That didn't leave me too many choices." Of course there were other issues, one of which was the tension resulting from Byrne's growing prominence as the Heads' focal point during the latter stages of the band's tenure.

Years ago I heard a song by David Byrne where he sang about being deranged. Anyone know it ?

Could it be this one? The Man Who Loved Beer Written by Donald Charles Book and Kurt Wagner To whom can I speak today The brothers they are equal But the old friends of today They have become unlovable To whom can I speak today The gentleness has perished And the violent man has come down on everyone To whom can I speak today The wrong which roams the earth There can be no end to it It is just unstoppable Death is in my sights today As when a man desires To see home after many years in jail February through December We have such a tragic year As separate as the fingers Suddenly - as one - as the hand And the violent man has come down on everyone And the violent man has come down on everyone

Does Anyone Know The Lyrics To Paul Van Dyks' "Fall With Me (feat. David Byrne)"?

Does anybody think David Byrne sounds like Robin Williams?

Yes. That's a good comparison in those songs. Of course, both Byrne and Williams are men of a thousand voices, so I bet that if they got together for a while, they could probably do perfect impersonations of each other. Byrne is great, and so out there. The Sand in the Vaseline album is one of my faves.

What are your 5 favorite songs off 'My Life in the Bush of Ghosts (1981)' by Brian Eno & David Byrne?

Another album, that really deserves to be listened to, in order, from beginning to end. 1. The Jezebel Spirit 2. America Is Waiting 3. Qu'ran 4. Mountain of Needles ( a serene ending, to an extraordinary experiment in tapes & rhythms :) 5. Mea Culpa Edit -- This album was a natural progression from the previous Heads' album, "Remain in Light" The progression of -- Talking Heads: '77 (1977) More Songs About Buildtings and Food (1978) Fear of Music (1979) Remain in Light (1980) 'My Life in the Bush of Ghosts (1981) This really "ends" the Talking Heads series, imo. "Speaking in Tongues" was a fine album, but really a step "backwards" -- after this amazing series of albums - as were the follow-ups :)

Do you think David Byrne's creativity kicked full in with The Talking Heads or with Brian Eno?

All the Talking Heads albums up to and including 'Speaking In Tongues (1983)' are brilliant. Their first album 'Talking Heads '77 (1977)' is much less based on electronics than the albums that followed it - which gives their debut a kind of post-punk, raw, charm. All in all, I prefer the stuff that Brian Eno had a hand in - although I like the first album a lot too. 'My Life in the Bush of Ghosts (1981)' was a solo album that David Byrne did with Brian Eno. This album is amazing!
